Toca Madera Story

Toca Madera Story

Toca Madera Winery was founded to share our love of wine making and fine wines with our friends and neighbors in the Central Valley.  Our vineyard includes red and white Rhone variety grapes (Syrah, Mouvedre, Grenache, Vionier, Marsanne), Malbec, Tempranillo, Muscat, Zinfandel and Alicante.  Our diverse mix of warm-weather wine grapes was specially selected to create unique blends of estate wines for the sophisticated palate. The location of the vineyard is special, too.  We are at the “trail-head” of the Madera Wine Trail, where Road 36 joins Avenue 9 in Madera, CA –  just outside of Fresno.

Our vineyard was planted in 2012 on virgin, fertile soil never previously planted with any vines, orchards or other crops. The rolling hills terrain of the vineyard is also rather unique in Madera County, much more reminiscent of vineyards in Napa or on the Central Coast.

As a locally owned and operated family business we enjoy hosting local artists and musicians regularly on the weekends.  The terraced garden behind the winery was designed with weddings and special events in mind, to allow guests to better enjoy the natural beauty of our vineyard. The 7,000 square foot winery building, which was built on the vineyard property in 2014, includes a large tasting room with 23 foot high ceilings and a beautiful panoramic view of the vineyard from the bar area.

Stop by this weekend to meet our Toca Madera Winery family and enjoy a unique estate grown wine tasting experience!
